The past summer has been busy for the working contingent of the Foundation, who have devoted a lot of hours to getting these items cleaned and on display . Once again, the Foundation utilized the services of work details from the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale. They applied new dry wall panels to both sections of the third floor, unfortunately, however, creating clouds of dust from the plastering and sanding that sifted to the main floor--necessitating even more hours of clean up.
By next Fall, it is hoped
we'll have the third floor available (*see
photos below) for use
with storage and/or offices. Our farm and mining tools have been moved
to the basement area, which has also been completely renovated, treated with a water barrier and
covered with fresh coats of paint. This not only gives us more space upstairs but also gives
us a larger area to effectively display the tools from the early days of
Osceola’s history.
We hope that you'll enjoy this website as a great introduction to all that we have in our Museum---but it's so much nicer to experience our displays in person! Please come visit us frequently!
